Feeling and Looking Confident For an Interview

Being prepared for an interview is one thing, but being mentally ready is a completely different thing. Many people feel that knowing all the right answers will get them the job, but the fact is far from it. Here are a few things that you can do to feel more confident:

    • A smile can win over the strongest of hearts, which is why you need to make sure that you smile throughout the interview. There are numerous people who are not able to smile during adverse situations, which is why it would be wise that you practise smiling as much as possible.
    • Speaking clearly is also important for an interview and those who feel a little shy while speaking in front of multiple people should certainly invest time in speaking loud. You could practice in front of a mirror or in front of those people whom you are comfortable with.
    • The moment you enter the interview room, your interview will have started, which is why your postures will prove to be just as important. Practice power postures – how you will enter the room, how you will greet the panel, how you will shake hands, how you will sit and even how you will get up from your seat, post interview.
    • The most commonly asked questions are “why do you want this job” and “why do you think you will be fit for this job”. Since you know that there is quite the chance that these questions might be asked, it is best that you be prepared in advance for the same.
    • Being nervous before an interview is natural, but it is best that you leave all self-doubt at the door. Walk in with a mental frame of mind that you will do well in the interview and that vibe will emanate the room.
    • Many people have said that listening to peppy and upbeat music helps lift their spirits and you might want to try the same out too. Music is supposed to soothe the senses and it can certainly help before an important day.

You need to understand that an interview is a chance to shine and you need to make full use of the same.
